“Even when I’m not alone and I’m doing something, I still see before my eyes all that horror,” Margarita said, referring to the brutality and abuse allegedly committed by Vladimir Putin’s officers against their own subordinates. Margarita said the harrowing experiences have left her suffering from constant nightmares and panic attacks. The woman, who calls her Margarita, said in the interview that she has spent the past two months undergoing rehabilitation and is taking antidepressants for the severe trauma she endured in Ukraine.
